Q: What is the indoor drumline activity all about?

Q: What age groups are allowed to participate?

A: Our membership is comprised of high school AND college age students.

Q: Will drum corps or high school band conflict?

A: Drum corps is a summer activity which will not affect your position with TCIE. If you have camp dates that conflict, please notify the staff of each group and reach a solution in a timely manner. High school band may seldom have conflicts but school band activities must take priority.

Q: How do I participate in TCIE?

A: TCIE is an audition only ensemble which competes in the Independent Open class. Auditions will be held in early November. 


Q: Where does the ensemble rehearse?

A: Most rehearsals take place in the Lexington, KY area. If rehearsal locations are changed, this information will be available to members in the Forums. 


Q: How much are the member dues?

A: Dues for the 2011 season are: 

$700

There is a one time audition fee of $50.00 for New Members. $25.00 for Returning Members


Q: What if I have financial difficulty?

A: The $50.00 audition fee must be paid at the time of audition. The season dues may be set up on a payment plan that will work better for your budget. These situations are done on an 'as needed' basis.

Q: What do my Member Dues pay for?

A: The member dues cover:

Uniforms
Food during travel weekends.

Purchasing/renting instruments, and instrument repair.

Sticks, heads, and mallets. 
Tarp and Props
Lodging/Rehearsal Facility rental
Contest Entry Fees for WGI and Tri-State
Miscellaneous expenses needed to get the production up and running

Q: How do my parents get involved with TCIE?

A: We are actively seeking volunteers to assist with a large number of activities. Please have your parents contact us to inquire about our volunteer needs.  We need parents or others to help with housing, food preparation, prop building, truck driving, fundraising, merchandise sales, and to be supportive in the stands!!
